League Rules

1 Each team will by owned by 1 person

2 No person can own more then 1 team.

3 The league was originally started with 10 teams and will not have more then 16 teams.

4 If anyone wants to make changes to the rules, they need to be done at a hockey pool meeting.

5 For a rule change to be approved, 50% + 1 must approve the change.

6 Any approved rule change will take effect the following season.

7 Owners my sell there team at any time and there’s no fee for selling a team.

8 If an owner does not come back and does not find a seller all the players on his team will be available in the draft.

9 If more then one person is interested in joining a league and a team drops out. The new owners will have an expansion draft to pick from the team that dropped out.

10. The annual fee to have a team in the league is $40 which is due before the draft.

11. The fee is not refundable after the draft starts.

12. The prizes and trophies will be handed out after the playoffs and before the beginning of the draft.

13. The trophies belong to the league and must be returned after the regular season is over.

14. Meeting schedules will be given out to everyone after the draft.

15. Age limit is 13 year old.

Salary Cap

A1 Each team will have a salary cap of a maximum of 165.

A2 A players salary will be determined by the amount of points he accumulated the previous season.

A3 The breakdown of salary is as follows:

Forwards and goalies are worth the following:

120+ = 12

110-119 = 11

100-109 = 10

90-99 = 9

80-89 = 8

70-79 = 7

60-69 = 6

50-59 = 5

40-49 = 4

30-39 = 3

20-29 = 2

0-19 = 1

Defenceman

69+ = 12

63-68 = 11

57-62 = 10

51-56 = 9

45-50 = 8

40-44 = 7

34-39 = 6

28-33 = 5

22-27 = 4

17-21 = 3

11-16 = 2

0-10 = 1

any player who has not played in the NHL yet, will be worth the draft round his was picked in our league.

Draft picks when making a trade, are worth the following(but do not count against the cap):

1st round = 7

2nd round = 6

3rd round = 5

4th round = 4

5th round = 3

6th round = 2

7th round = 1

Transactions

B1 It is strictly prohibited to trade injured players unless the 2 parties agree to trade with the knowledge of the injury. If 1 of the parties complains, the trade will be nullified. If the player gets injured after the trade is concluded it will not be cancelled.

B2 A transaction will be concluded once the league president receives written confirmation from the 2 parties.

B3 If a transaction involves the league president then the trade is final once the vice-president receives confirmation.

B4 A trade may only be done during the trading period.

B5 The trading period will be from August 1st until the trade deadline. Roster will be frozen the Friday before the draft until the draft. (if an expansion team joins roster will be frozen 5 days before the expansion draft)

B6 Once a trade has been made between 2 owners, they can not trade those players back to the same owner for a minimum of 1 year. (Draft picks don’t count)

B7 The difference in salary in a trade can not be more then 3. (ex. a 70 point forward can be trade for no less than a 4th round pick)

Point system

C1 The top 9 forwards in points, the top 5 defensemen in points and the top 2 goalies in points, will count for the finally point total

C2 Points for each player are given as follows:

Forward and defensemen receive 1point for a goal and 1 point for an assist

Goalies receive 2 points for a victory, 2 points for a shutout, 1 point for a goal or an assist.

Goalies will also receive points for their average after the play a minimum of 20games. The points that they receive will be as follows:

Average less then 2.00 =25 points

Between 2.01 and 2.20 = 20 points

Between 2.21 and 2.40 = 17 points

Between 2.41 and 2.60 = 14 points

Between 2.61 and 2.80 = 12 points

Between 2.81 and 3.00 = 9 points

Between 3.01 and 3.20 = 6 points

Between 3.21 and 3.40 = 3 points

Between 3.41 and 3.60 = 2 points

Between 3.61 and 3.80 = 1 point

Higher then 3.81 = 0 points

C3 The sum of the points accumulated will decide the final standings and the teams that make the playoffs.

C4 There will be a minimum of 2 divisions. The teams that do not make the playoffs and the expansion teams will be automatically place in the last division. The other teams will be picked out of a hat to see which division they will be placed in.

C5 The playoffs will have only 1 winner

C6 All teams make the playoffs.

C7 Goalie will not receive points for their average during the playoffs. The rest of the points system remains in place

C8 The playoffs will be total points for top 9 forwards, 5 Defenceman and 2 goalies

C9 Each team will have a minimum of 24 players on there roster 9 must be forwards, 5 must be defenseman and 2 must be goalies.

Draft and protection

D1 For the regular draft, each team will be able to protect up to 72 in salary plus the automatically protected players.

D2 There will be no new automatically protected playes. The players who currently on a team will be grandfathered with the following rules.
The players who are protected automatically are the forwards and defensemen who for their career have played 199 games or less and goalies that have played 99 games.

D3 The draft order will be the opposite of the final standings. Meaning the team that finished with the least amount of points will be first.

D4 For the first round of the draft, the teams that finished 9th to last, pick out of a hat to see who picks first. If it's 2 teams , the team that finishes last will have there name twice in the hat and the other team once. If it's 3 teams, the team that finishes last will have their name 3 times in the hat, 2nd last twice and 3rd last once to choose who picks first and second.

D5 In the second round the team that finished last will pick first no matter if they picked 1st in the first round or not.

D6 If there are expansion teams, they will have their first pick at the end of the first round, but first in the remaining rounds.

D7 The draft will be a maximum of 7 rounds.

D8 Any player not protected is available to be picked.

D9 Each time after a team loses 2 players, it is allowed to protect 1 additional player.

Waivers

E1 The Friday following the draft teams may waive players off there team. All teams must be under the salary cap by the Fridat following the draft. The waived players will then go to a waiver draft.

E2 The waiver draft will start in the same order as the second round of the draft and go until nobody picks any more players

Waivers after the Draft

E3 During the season each team is allowed to waive up to 3 players on their team from the start of the season till the trade deadline.

E4 Players that are waived, will be available for 48 hours on waives. Each team can submit a request to claim the player.

The lowest seeded team will have 1st priority

Once a team picks up a player on waivers their priority will drop to last for the next player waived.
